Local elections effect our day to day lives on a greater scale than our federal elections. If you live, work or otherwise do business in Rockwall County, these elections WILL effect you!
As part of our effort to keep the business community informed and involved with local politics, we are hosting a presentation on TWO bond initiatives residents of Rockwall County will be voting on November 2nd. Both of these initiatives are endorsed by the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce & it's Board of Directors as they are good for business and will help our community continue to thrive.
Rockwall ISD Bond:
You know our county is growing but did you know that Rockwall ISD grew by more than 3,000 students over the last decade? And our schools are expected to grow by nearly 3,500 students over the next ten years.
To prepare for the increasing student population, the RISD Board of Trustees took a community-driven approach to prioritize the District’s future needs and created the Facilities Bond Committee. The Facilities Bond Committee, comprised of parents, teachers, students, and community and business leaders, developed a $475.8 million bond package that impacts every student and every school in Rockwall ISD. Come hear our School Superintendent John “JJ” Villarreal present the community’s plan to our Chamber partners.
Rockwall County TRIP2021 Transportation Bond:
As Rockwall County continues to grow, we must invest in our infrastructure. The Rockwall County TRIP2021 initiative seeks to provide funding for 32 different projects spanning the entirety of Rockwall County.
